PONTELAND Lions have made a generous donation to a local charity which brings children together for educational programmes.
The North-East branch of CISV sends participants on group activities which help develop cross-cultural understanding in young people around the world.
Children from Wylam, Whalton and Ponteland were among the 40 children from Northumberland to travel this year.
Set up in 1957, the North-East branch celebrated its 60th anniversary in Ponteland last month, when 75 people attended, including past and present members and their families.
Following the celebration, Ponteland Lions presented a cheque of £1,000 to the group to help CISV continue its work.
