AS the sun came out, so did the community of Matfen for the village’s annual fete.
On Saturday, families flocked to the village green for food, entertainment and the popular model boat race and duck race, which always spark friendly competition between villagers.
Children were kept busy with face painting, tombola, hook-a-duck and a bouncy castle.
Organiser, Hannah Parker, said the turn-out seemed to be in the hundreds.
She said over £3,500 was raised, which would go to the village hall committee, to be used for future community events and work to the village hall.
