THE 32nd gala concert hosted by Ponteland Rotary Club attracted stars of the opera stage.
Organised by international opera star Graeme Danby, the event was held at the Britannia Airport Hotel, in Ponteland, with performances from stars including violinist Bradley Creswick, the leader of the Northern Sinfonia. As usual, Graeme, an honorary member of Ponteland Rotary Club, was accompanied by his wife mezzo soprano Valerie Reid, who performed a spellbinding duet from Cosi Fan Tutte with soprano Sena Larard.
Rotary club president Suzanne Marshall thanked the artistes and sponsors Ballinger Trust, The Britannia Hotel, Ponteland Print, Cowells Garden Centre, Haveli Restaurant, Rialto Ristorante and Geoff Stevens & Son.
Suzanne also thanked Rotary club vice-president Michael Metcalf for organising the event, and the audience for their support.
