A STAMFORDHAM man has been convicted of possessing a knife in a public place by magistrates in Newcastle.

Jordan Robson (22) of Grange Road, Stamfordham, who denied the charge, was sentenced to a 12-month community order, including 25 days’ rehabilitation.

He was also ordered to pay £100 costs and an £85 surcharge.

The court heard he had earlier admitted to driving with no insurance on a provisional licence.
