THE harvest supper in the Methodist Church will take place tomorrow, at 6.30pm, and will be followed by entertainment.

Then on Sunday, October 4, an all-age harvest festival service takes place at the Methodist Church at 10am, led by the Rev. Tim Thorpe.

Everyone is most welcome at both these events.

IF you want to see more bees in your garden, or are concerned about the loss of bees nationally, go along to St Mary’s Church Hall on Tuesday, October 6, at 7.30pm, and listen to Tony Milan from Askham Bryan College.

He will be talking about Bee friendly gardening and how to help your bumble bees at the Northumberland Wildlife Trust meeting. All are welcome, with good refreshments also on offer.

ON Wednesday, October 7, Ponteland Leisure Learning, the U3A, will meet at 2pm in St Mary’s Church Hall for a musical presentation by Steve and Carol Robson and a group called Fool’s Gold.

THE coffee club will meet on Wednesday, October 7, at 7.30pm, in the small room at St Mary’s Church Hall, when the subject is Courses. All ladies are welcome at this friendly meeting.

THE highly-recommended autumn show of the North-East Alpine Garden Society will take place this year on Saturday, October 10, at Cowells garden centre in Woolsington.

ON Saturday, October 10, at 2.30pm, there will be a talk at the memorial hall on Peonies in the wild and the varieties available in the garden today.

This is organised by the Plant Heritage North East group and the speaker, Jo Bennison from Lincoln, will be bringing plants for sale.
