THE Bridge will meet at 4pm on Sunday, in the Methodist Church. This is an informal café style church, worship is lively and topics are current.

All ages are welcome, both committed Christians and people who are still wondering. Refreshments are available and there is special provision for children.

ON Monday, the Circle of Support memory café will be open from 10.30am until noon, at the United Reformed Church on Broadway.

Anyone suffering from dementia plus carers and friends are most welcome at this friendly support group.

ON Monday, the Ponteland Senior Gentlemen’s Club will meet at 2.30pm, in the Memorial Hall lounge for a talk by Bernard Hope called Eddie Chapman: North-East double agent. Any gentleman over 55 is welcome.

ON Monday at 7.30pm, the North-East group of the Alpine garden society is having a talk on Himalayan highlights: Bhutan.

The speakers, Margaret and David Thorne, are enthusiastic plant hunters in mountains regions. The meeting is in St Mary’s Church hall, and everyone is welcome.

PONTELAND Ladies’ Choir is looking for new members. They rehearse on Mondays from 7pm until 9pm, in Ponteland Methodist Church, opposite The Diamond.

ON Saturday, October 17, Ageing Well has organised another open morning in St Mary’s Church hall from 9.30am until noon.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event called Winter Warmer to find out about local help and social groups and the nice warm refreshments are usually free.

PLEASE support a concert in aid of Tynedale Hospice. The concert has been organised by Ponteland Charity Group and takes place on Saturday, October 31, at 7.30pm, in the Memorial Hall.

It features Just 4 men and a soprano and tickets are available from the optician, Geoff Stevens, or Andy on (01661) 871844. It is bound to be a lovely evening and includes a bar and a raffle.
