On Friday, December 4, at 12.30pm, it will be the weekly soup and sandwich lunch.

PONTELAND Civic Society will meet on Monday, November 30, at 7.30pm, in St Mary’s Church hall. The talk by Jules Brown is entitled Coquet Island: conserved for all, reserved for one. It describes the North-East Civic Trust project to examine the monastic cell on Coquet Island. Visitors are most welcome.

PONTELAND wildlife group will meet on Tuesday, December 1, at 7.30pm, in St Mary’s Church hall. Tom Cawallender, a well-known ornithologist and co-author of The Northumberland Bird Atlas, will be doing a light-hearted travelogue of the countries he has visited since retiring four years ago. Everyone is welcome to attend.

ON Wednesday, December 2, the U3A (Ponteland Leisure Learning) will meet at 2pm, in St Mary’s Church hall for Christmas celebrations and a faith tea and all are welcome to go along and find out more about what the U3A offers.

ON Wednesday, December 2 and Thursday, December 3, Mrs Warwicker, drama and performing arts teacher, will be directing her 22nd and final production with Ponteland High School sixth formers.

THE Friday Hopper 14-seater bus will take you anywhere you want to go around Ponteland and pick you up to take you home again. All you need to do is to telephone Adapt (NE) (01434) 600599, no later than noon on Thursday, December 3, to book your seat on the bus the following day.

THE Methodist church Christmas fair is on Saturday, December 5, from 10am until noon. There will be lots of stalls and refreshments will include mince pies.
