TOMORROW, there will be more railway films shown by the vicar in St Mary’s Church Hall. As usual this popular film show will take place at 3pm, and again at 7.30pm.

ON Sunday at 10am, All Age Worship at St Mary’s will include Eric and Sandra Read and their children, on leave from their work in the Philippines after a difficult period.

PONTELAND Mothers’ Union has organised a trip to the MetroCentre to meet its chaplain, Lyn Jamieson. The visit will take place on Monday, June 22, at 10.30am.

ON Monday, June 22, Ponteland Embroiderers Guild will hold a full day workshop at the Memorial Hall. All levels of experience are welcome including novices and more information is available on (01661) 881395.

ON Wednesday, June 24, Julie Barham will be giving an illustrated talk about the author Dorothy L. Sayers: her life and work.

This will take place in the smaller room at St Mary’s Church Hall at 11am and again at 7.30pm. Sayers was a ‘Golden Age’ crime writer and created Lord Peter Wimsey.

She wrote ads like ‘Guinness is good for you’ and translated Dante’s Divine Comedy. She wrote on spiritual matters, translated the gospels and wrote The man born to be king.

All are welcome at this fascinating insight into this well- loved writer.

ON Wednesday, June 24, Ponteland Green Belt Group’s AGM will be held in the lounge at the Memorial Hall. If you want to get involved or would like to join the committee a nomination form is available on the web at www.pontelandgreenbelt.co.uk

TODDLER Thursdays is a new group for little ones and their parents or carers at the Methodist Church Hall. It runs from 9.30am until 11am with play, refreshments and time to talk.

It is funded by Ponteland Council of Churches and is open to all. Please give it a try or just spread the word.

THERE will be a St John Ambulance course on Saturday, June 27, from 10am until 1pm, called ‘essential first aid for all ages’. It will be held in St Mary’s Church Hall and if you are interested telephone the church office on (01661) 824470.

MUSIC in the Park is on Sunday, June 28, from 2.30pm until 5.30pm, and will be opened by Paul Mooney. It features Rendezvous Jazz, North Tyneside Steel Band, Ponteland Community Band, the Ringtones and Gaynor Marie. You are welcome to take a picnic and stay all afternoon.
