A 90-YEAR-OLD Ponteland man is determined to continue fund-raising for charity.
Bruce Grant, the founder of Pont Charity Group, which folded at the end of last year after raising nearly £28,000, has organised three charity events.
In addition to the group’s work, Bruce has raised £23,000 on his own for good causes over the years.
At last month’s annual meeting of Ponteland Town council, Mr Grant received a Meritorious Service Award for his fund-raising from the Mayor of Ponteland at the time, Carl Rawlings.
Mr Grant has now organised three charity concerts over the next three months in aid of Children North East.
The first will be a country music concert on Tuesday, at 17 Old Station Court, Darras Hall. The second, a classical concert on June 14 and the third, an easy-listening concert on July 13, will be held at the same place.
Tickets can be purchased from Mr Grant on (01661) 823606 or grant.darras@gmail.com
