PONTELAND High School pupils impressed a packed audience for four nights running in their new production of the hit musical Grease.

The show was back by popular demand, a repeat of the outstanding school production of 2012, and launched proud Ponteland parents into the festive season in a whirl of colour and musical and acting talent.

Since auditions in June, students have been working tirelessly on the production to wow the crowds who came to cheer them on at the beginning of December.

The show’s director, English teacher Mrs Christine Heath, said: “Grease is a massively popular show, particularly with young people, and there was a real buzz of excitement about this production around the school.”

Headteacher Kieran McGrane added: “The musical production is always a highlight of my year and this was no exception; Grease raised the bar yet again.

“Everything about the show was outstanding.”
