A PARTNERSHIP which manages Ponteland Medical Group has successfully changed the fortunes of Cramlington Medical Group in just 18 months.
Cramlington Medical Group was rated as ‘inadequate’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in May 2015, before joining Northumbria Primary Care, a partnership between local GP surgeries and Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Over the past 18 months, practice staff have been working to make significant improvements in patient care and experience. And after its most recent inspection, in November 2016, the CQC has now rated the group as ‘good’ overall.
Set up in April 2015, Northumbria Primary Care now manages six GP practices with around 40,000 registered patients.
Clinical director of Northumbria Primary Care Dr Nigel Twelves said: “The team at Cramlington have done a fantastic job to turn around the practice in such a short space of time and all staff should be applauded for their hard work and commitment to improving the service for patients.”
