The personalities gathered to put their sporting skills to the test on Friday, and raise money towards the creation of a youth village at nearby Allensford.

The village is being planned by the Youth Ministry Team, headed by Roman Catholic priest Father Dermott Donnelly, brother of Dec.

Helping Ant and Dec get in the swings of things were Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall – who plays Tyrone – the host of DIY SOS Nick Knowles, and BBC Country File and former Blue Peter presenter Matt Baker.

They were joined by former Newcastle United footballers Rob Lee and John Beresford, as well as guests from local businesses and charity supporters.

After the golf, celebrities attended a fund-raising dinner at Slaley Hall in aid of the Youth Ministry Team. Guests at the meal included Strictly Come Dancing champion Jill Halfpenny and ex-Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton.

Prizes auctioned at the dinner included a suit donated by Jonathan Ross and the use of a luxury Italian villa for a week.
