AFTER a hugely successful fund-raising event last year, the Big Splash committee of Hexham’s Rotary Club is looking for ways to spend its cash.

During the sponsored swim at Hexham's new pool in November over £3,500 was raised, and now the committee is looking for worthy causes to spend the money on.

Committee chairman Graham Blackler said: “We would like to hear from people who can suggest small local groups or individuals who could use this money.

“Even something as simple as an elderly person whose TV has given up the ghost could be a worthy cause.”

When the Big Splash was launched the committee asked those groups entering to suggest beneficiaries, but few ideas were forthcoming.
