THE bowls club has been busy over the last few weeks with home and away matches and the monthly trophy evening.
First game was away to Dalton where the host team won. The second game was against Kirkwhelpington at Newbrough and although the margin was small, Kirkwhelpington went home the winners. The Churchill Trophy was won by Barry Hall, with Winnie Golightly runner-up.
IT’S that time of year again when people are putting up their Christmas decorations. Keep your eyes open for the regular array in and around our villages.
IT HAS been brought to my attention that Tynedale Council has carried out an appraisal of Newbrough regarding the conservation area – and it makes interesting reading. If you want to take a look at it, log on to the council’s website and by following links you will eventually find a document on the village at present and what the aims are for the area.
DOROTHY Bowman informs me she is still battling to save our local post office as it is at the present time. We will have to wait and see if she succeeds.
