Lee Ian Pick – Jennifer Brooke

A CIVIL ceremony and reception at Chillingham Castle was the choice of newlyweds Lee Ian Pick and Jennifer Brooke.

The bride is the daughter of Alan and Anne Brooke, of Hexham, and was educated at Queen Elizabeth High School before attending De Montfort University.

She now works as a primary school teacher in Leicester and enjoys fitball and swimming and indulging in shopping in her spare time.

The bridegroom is the son of Boyd and Christine Pick, of Leicester. He attended City of Leicester Secondary School and now works as a cellar attendant at the Ramada Hotel in the city.

The ceremony was conducted by registrar Rhona Lackenby and the bride entered across a balcony to the theme from her favourite film, The Princess Bride.

Adding to the romantic atmosphere, the ceremony was conducted by candlelight.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a strapless princess line gown in lavender with a full-length train.

Beaded detail on the bustier was matched down the back of the gown and she wore a crystal tiara in her trailing curls.

The bridal bouquet was a shower of white calla lilies and roses, lilac freesias and purple lisianthus with diamante detail.

The bride’s sister Kathryn Brooke and her university friend Caroline Briggs were bridesmaids.

They wore knee-length dark purple and ivory dresses and carried hand-tied bouquets of white roses, lilac freesias and purple lisianthus with matching diamante detail.

The bridegroom’s older brother Boyd Pick was best man and the bride’s brother Christopher Brooke was usher.

The newlyweds left the ceremony to the song Feeling Good by Muse.

During the service, readings were given by the bride’s mother and the bridegroom’s father.

A purple and lilac wedding cake was designed by the bridegroom and sported the same design as his wrist tattoo.

The couple honeymooned in Romania.
