A MEDITATION class is starting at Wylam Institute from September 1 to October 20, on Mondays from 7pm until 9pm.Classes are all individual drop-in ones, with no need to book in advance and no experience necessary.
The topic for the meditation classes this term is ‘Advice for a Good Life’. When we discover the truth about our human potential and explore our unique capacity for goodness, honesty and virtue, we can turn around our current daily problems and difficult relationships.
This term’s classes will give us practical instructions on how to change, so that we can be free from our problems and live a good life. For further information call (0191) 284 3501 or visit www. meditation-newcastle.org

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, is the Northumberland Historic Churches Steeple-chase. Have a great day out, see some of the lovely churches in Northumberland and help to maintain them. You can collect a sponsorship form from the back of St Oswin’s Church.

THANKS to everyone who has left junk for the junk modelling sessions at the Falcon Centre. They have been having a good time and have made some fantastic models. There are two more sessions to go this summer, after which they are hoping to run a junk modelling session at the Shelter Christmas card fair on November 1 and at the playgroup Christmas fair on December 6.

WYLAM Playgroup continues the hunt for stories from 40 years of its history. Some gems have been unearthed, but no pictures yet.
One tale shows how impoverished they were in the early days, using clay from the brickworks and processing it through a meat mincer before it was suitable for the children to play with.
If anyone has any stories, please either ring Melanie (01661) 852106 or email the playgroup committee at wylam.playgroup@live.co.uk.

It is hoping to mark this momentous occasion with a party after Christmas, and so needs to identify anyone involved in the playgroup over the past 40 years.
