Newbrough news

MY APOLOGIES if you sent any information to me for this week’s notes and they weren't printed. I took the advantage of going away for a few days and therefore had to put the notes in earlier than usual.

CONGRATULATIONS to Newbrough residents Andrew and Susan Smith and their family for completing a walk between Langley and Bamburgh Castles recently.
The hardy hikers managed the walk in double quick time whilst raising money for a cancer charity at the same time. Well done to them all. I'm sure the money they raised will be put to good use.

THE weather last week was rather inclement and saw parts of the area flooded on Thursday. The fire brigade paid a visit to help clear flood water from the streets and numerous gardens were flooded too.

LOVELY to see a wedding in the village on Saturday. The marquee was set up in advance, so hopefully the ground would be reasonably dry underfoot.
The old double decker bus used as a wedding vehicle was a lovely idea and certainly turned some heads. At least the happy couple had a dry day. Congratulations to them both.
