No fewer than 50 traders have signed up for the event and will offer a variety of gifts for sale ahead of the festive season.
Dawn Hodgkins, of organisers North-East Markets, said there will be arts and crafts, home-made jams, pastries and other food. There will also be a selection of wine and spirits.
Dawn, who works alongside business partner Margaret Dunne, said: “We are used to organising markets in the North-East and are very much looking forward to this one in Hexham.
“It’s really a Christmas market, but because it’s happening a bit early, we’ve called it a winter market. If it’s a success, we’d like to make it an annual event.”
The market will run at Hexham Mart on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, from 10am to 4pm.
