A COLLECTION of classic cars owned by members of the North-East section of the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club gathered outside Hexham Abbey earlier this month.
Eleven cars, including a pre-war Derby
built Bentley, stopped off in Hexham as part of a four-day tour of Tynedale organised independently by John and Marilyn Leadbitter, of
Corbridge.
The “Turkey and Tinsel” run involved drivers from as far away as Essex and Hampshire, visiting the Abbey, Hadrian’s Wall and Greenhead’s Roman Army Museum, while staying at the Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland.
