Last Friday, staff from Tesco handed over make-up hampers, perfumes, hair straighteners and electrical items, such as an LG sound bar, Sony Bluetooth speakers and wireless Beats headsets, to staff and students from the school.
The prizes will be raffled and auctioned off at a June fund-raiser, organised by parents Jennie Rosby, Michelle Rivkin and Vicky Moffitt, to boost school funds.
The black tie Midsummer’s Night Ball will be held on Saturday, June 10, at Vallum Farm on the Military Road.
Sarah Nixon, head of Hexham Priory School’s primary department, said: “We are extremely grateful. Some of the items are extremely valuable and will be very popular, so they are going to be auctioned off, and some are going to be raffled.
“Tesco has been a great support for the school.”
David Longstaff, non-food manager, who organised the donations, said: “We can’t do things like this all the time, but when we can, we try to do it in style.
“It is a local school for disabled children and they are struggling for funds. It’s good to be able to help out local schools.”
