IN honour of national Guide Dogs Week, a Hexham businesswoman is preparing to host a fund-raising pet parade.
Deb Humble, who runs the TastyBITES refreshments kiosk at Hexham Bus Station, is inviting owners to bring along their pets on Saturday afternoon for some fun fund-raising classes.
Rosettes are up for grabs for those who make a donation to participate in the classes including, the waggiest tail, the best six legs, the pet which looks most like its owner and best young handler.
Prizes have been donated by Dolly's Dog Treats, owned by Jenna Lee of Whitfield, and photographer, Paul Scurrah, will be on hand to snap pet portraits.
All proceeds from the event will go to Guide Dogs for the Blind, but Deb is keen to point out that the event is not confined to dogs - all pets are welcome.
The event will take place on Saturday between 1pm and 3pm.
