CANINE companions and their human handlers flocked to Hexham’s Tyne Green on Sunday for the annual RSPCA fun dog show.

Among the highlights was a parade of dogs rescued and rehomed by staff and volunteers at the Northumberland West branch. This year it included five members from a litter of nine Saluki puppies which came into the care of the branch at Easter.

Prizes were handed out in 12 classes.

The show was opened with an obedience display by the Canny Canines dog training club, based at Fourstones.

The event has become a key annual fundraiser for the local RSPCA branch and this year it raised over £560.
