POLICE were called to a Hexham pub after receiving reports of a man threatening a customer with a knife.
Officers were deployed to the J.D. Wetherspoon pub in Hexham Market Place at 8pm on Thursday, however, the man had left the scene.
Searches of the area were carried out and a man was arrested shortly after getting on a bus heading out of Hexham.
Tynedale's neighbourhood inspector Pam Bridges, said: "Reports of this nature are taken very seriously as they are potentially an immediate danger to the public."
Josh David Jackson (18) of Sandyford Avenue, Prudhoe, was charged with disorderly conduct and threatening a person with a bladed or pointed article in a public place.
He appeared in magistrates court in Newcastle on Saturday morning and was released on bail to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on March 19.
