AROUND 300 people had a first class time at Hexham’s inaugural model railway show on Saturday, much to the delight of organiser, Kris Fagan.

Kris said he was delighted with such a good turn-out at the town’s Torch centre and planned to hold the event next year.

“There were mums and dads with children who really enjoyed the Thomas the Tank Engine layout,” he said. “And the Kielder Forest exhibit was also popular.”

Visitors also enjoyed browsing the stalls selling a cornucopia of merchandise.
