TO mark Barrasford Methodist Church’s anniversary, on Saturday, June 4, at 7pm, there will be a concert by Stanley Men’s Forum Gospel Choir, followed by supper.

On Sunday, June 5, at 6.30pm, the service will be taken by Maureen Chapman. All are welcome.

BARRASFORD now has a defibrillator located outside the village hall in a secure cabinet.

The equipment has been provided through the Courant’s Heart of Gold campaign, in partnership with the Stephen Carey Fund.

Should you ever be in the unfortunate position of needing to use a defibrillator, dial 999, you will be directed to the nearest defibrillator and given a code to open the box. The defibrillator talks you through the procedure of how to use it.

TO mark the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations, a village lunch will be held on Sunday, June 12, between midday and 4pm. There will be a pooled lunchtime picnic on East Acres Green.

CHOLLERTON WI meets on Wednesday, when Karen Dover will be talking about and demonstrating reflexology.

GUNNERTON Lunch Club meets on Wednesday, June 29, between midday and 1pm for delicious home-made soup and pudding, tea and coffee, and a raffle. BIRTLEY coffee morning is on Thursday, from 10.30am to midday. Delicious coffee, home bakes and great conversation are guaranteed.

THE coffee morning in aid of the rose window fund at St Giles’ Church, Birtley, raised over £510. The total so far collected is in excess of £1,000.
