TYNEDALE Hospice at Home is £4,000 better off thanks to the generosity of supporters who entered the charity’s annual spring raffle.

Cathy Bates, the charity’s community fund-raiser, joined Derek Telfer from Hexham business MKM Building Supplies, to draw the winning tickets. And with hotel breaks, spa days and vouchers from local businesses – including MKM – up for grabs, the tickets provided hot property.

“The raffle is a popular fund-raiser for the charity and we’re delighted that people have been so generous in buying tickets this year,” said Cathy.

“We provide support to around 430 people a year, and every penny raised will make a real difference to the lives of local people and their families.

“We’d also like to say a huge thank you everyone who donated prizes for the raffle, including Matfen Hall, M&S and MKM.”

Derek, who is branch director at Hexham’s MKM, said: “We’ve recently signed up as one of Tynedale Hospice at Home’s business ambassadors and providing raffle prizes is just one of the ways we plan to support the charity in the coming year.”
