TWO employees at Hexham’s Egger UK factory have raised £1,000 for local good causes by completing the Yorkshire three peaks challenge.

Super-fit Dan McPherson and Ian Hope completed the route in just over 10 hours on August 6 to raise the cash for Northumbria Blood Bikes and children’s charity WECAN. Dan attended the WECAN Saturday Club at Hexham’s Wentworth Leisure Centre on October 8 to present a cheque for £500. Trustee, Liz Holmes, said: “This year Egger UK has provided WECAN with much valued financial and practical support through their Egger UK Charity Committee. We are very grateful for their continued support which enables us to provide support for the children and young people we work with.”

Dan and Ian plan to do the three nations peaks for WECAN next summer – Ben Nevis, Scafell, and Snowdon.
