YOUNGSTERS in Warden have a new play area thanks to collaborative community project.

The colourful new facility opened last week on land owned by Philip Straker, next to the Boatside Inn.

The scheme was funded by Warden Parish Council, with money it received from housing projects in the area.

Warden parish councillor Wesley Foot said: “The money has been in place for some time and it needed to be spent.

“With the co-operation of the landowner and the Boatside, it is nice to see this play area now open and available for children in the community to enjoy.”

The play area includes climbing apparatus, a slide and tunnel.

It is hoped that more funding will be available in the future to expand the play area and add learning panels and other educational activity facilities.
