The multi-academy trust announced last month that it hoped Haltwhistle would officially become a Bright Tribe school on May 1.
This week, a spokeswoman for the Cheshire-based trust admitted that the move had not yet been finalised.
She added: “Discussions regarding Haltwhistle’s conversion are progressing well and an announcement will be made in the near future.”
Bright Tribe is also set to take over at Haydon Bridge High School this summer, despite lengthy delays.
Regarding Haydon Bridge, the spokeswoman added: “Bright Tribe is working with the school’s interim executive board to address all the points associated with transferring the school into the trust.”
Bright Tribe runs academies in Suffolk, Essex and Greater Manchester, as well as Whitehaven Academy in Cumbria.
