FROM the rugged splendour of Hadrian’s Wall country to a dramatic sunset over Italy’s Lake Bolsena.

Images from home and away have been captured in a newly-published calender for 2017 by Haltwhistle Town Twinning Association.

The association has teamed-up with its twin towns at St Meen Le Grand in north-western France and Valentano in the Lazio region of Italy, to produce a multi-national offering. The new calendar is a first for the three-way link, which sees members of the respective twinning associations enjoy visits to each town.

Members were invited to enter their own photos for competition, with the 12 outstanding entries making it into the calendar.

Sheila Cook, joint-president of Haltwhistle Town Twinning Association alongside Ruth Seager, said: “The calendar competition was for any landscape within our respective local regions, of Northumberland, Brittany, and Lazio. We’ve ended up with a wonderful selection of landscape photographs, and the calendar has been published in English, French and Italian.”

The calendar is on sale at the Cumberland Building Society in Haltwhistle and Bardon Mill Village Shop. All proceeds will go to Haltwhistle Town Twinning Association.
