FAMILIES took to the waters at Haltwhistle outdoor pool at the weekend to mark the start of its summer season.
Since opening on Saturday, general manager of Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre, Maxine Wilson, said it had been well-used by children enjoying their Easter break.
“School holidays and weekends, if the weather is nice, are definitely the most popular times for general public swimming,” she said.
Maxine added that the swimming club would begin again on Mondays, while deep-water and shallow-water aqua-fit for adults would be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively.
The pool will remain open throughout the season until the end of the summer holidays on September 4.
