ORGANISERS of Haltwhistle Carnival have paid tribute to community volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this year's event such a success.
The week-long festival of fun culminated with carnival day on July 9, and the organising committee has already started looking towards plans for 2018.
But chairman Michael Glenwright has issued a glowing appraisal of the town's contribution.
He said: "Volunteers helped with the construction of tents and other carnival equipment, which is a big task.
"There were people who baked cakes and served afternoon teas, people who ran the various activities we held as part of the carnival, and individuals, groups and businesses who donated prizes.
"I want to thank the people of the Haltwhistle community who turned out to support their local carnival, and also those who travelled from further afield."
Mr Glenwright said the annual procession of floats had been another memorable occasion, with the committee working effectively alongside traffic management officers from Northumberland County Council.
He also thanked all venues which hosted activities, organisaers of the carnival's vintage rally, and Haltwhistle Youth Club.
