TRIBUTES have been paid to a Haltwhistle man who was killed in a car crash last week.

Jamie Armstrong (30) was driving an Audi A4, when he was involved in a collision with an HGV on the A66 near Brough in Cumbria last Thursday.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, which happened near to the Stainmor Cafe at 5.22am.

The driver of the HGV was not injured, but Jamie died at the scene.

Friends of Jamie, who was affectionately known as ‘Jam,’ said he loved his work as a plant machinery operator.

This week, members of Jamie’s family added that he also loved travelling and was well known in different parts of the world.

They said in a statement: “Jamie was a fun-loving lad who loved travelling and work.

“He always lived life to the full. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.”

The family expressed their thanks for the kind words and messages they have received since Jamie’s death.
