A LORRY driver was taken to hospital after his vehicle came off the road in Haltwhistle last Friday, July 8.

Police were called to the A69 roundabout at Hadrian Enterprise Park at 3.30am after the articulated lorry left the road and went down an embankment.

The driver, who was in his 60s, was taken to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria infirmary with injuries not thought to be life threatening.

The lorry was travelling west when the incident occurred. No other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed for 90 minutes on Saturday afternoon for the vehicle to be recovered.
