Bardon Mill carnival takes place on Saturday, June 4.

The event begins at 1pm, at Henshaw school, with the crowning of this year’s carnival queen – Emma Smith. The procession of the queen and her attendants – Chloe Makepeace, Brooklyn Clemmit, Willow Robson and Annabel Wilkinson – will then set off for the village football field on their float, followed by another float for children in fancy dress.

On arrival, the fancy dress competition will be judged. There will be lots of things to keep you busy – a bouncy castle, obstacle course, coconut shy, football match and craft stalls, cake stall, wellie-throwing and a dog show, as well as the grand raffle.

Hire for Fire will be providing live musical entertainment.

If you would like to donate raffle/tombola/bottle tombola or cakes, you can leave them at the Bowes Hotel or the Little Chef or contact Tracie to arrange collection on 07584 322404.

HENSHAW school is holding a celebration assembly today at 9.15am. It will also be providing a celebration lunch for the Queen’s birthday on Friday, June 10, at midday.

ON Sunday, our very own Bardon Mill star Emma Smith will be singing from 8pm until 10pm at the Bowes Hotel. Do come and support this talented and busy young woman.

ON Sunday, June 12, the parishes of Henshaw and Bardon Mill invite you to a community tea party and family fun day at Redburn Park.

The day will begin with a service in All Hallows at 10.30am and move on to Redburn Park after the service. Further details on posters throughout the village.
