NOREEN Harding’s cheese and wine at West End Farm raised the sum of £620 – a magnificent effort in aid of church funds.

THERE will be a churchyard tidy-up at Beltingham on Friday, July 24, at 10am – bring along your own favourite tools if you would like to help keep this ancient site looking good.

Many thanks to those who helped tidy up Henshaw Church grounds.

THE next Messy Church at Henshaw All Hallows is on Saturday, July 18, at 10.30am.

Evening Prayer sessions are at 5pm, on Tuesdays, at Henshaw, and 5pm at Beltingham on Thursday evenings.

ONE of the big annual fund-raisers for our churches at Henshaw and at Beltingham is the coffee morning in Haltwhistle.

This year it is on Saturday, August 15.

Helpers are desperately needed to set up the hall on the afternoon of Friday, August 14, and to man the stalls on the morning itself.

Raffle and tombola prizes would also be gratefully received, as would goods for the bric a brac stall.

ON Sunday, July 19, from 2pm, Janet Beakes will be opening her garden at Brockalee to visitors.

There will also be a plant stall and teas.

Proceeds from the event will be divided between Macmillan Cancer Support and church funds.

BY the time you read this you will have missed the ward walks with South Tyne Sustainability Group.

However, you can join them for their next walk on Tuesday, August 4, at the west end of Haresby Lonnen at 7pm.

THE Bowes Hotel has regular pensioner lunches at 12.30pm every third Thursday in the month.

No booking required, simply turn up and enjoy the excellent food and conversation.

The next lunch is on Thursday, July 16.

DID you know that the knitting group meets in the village shop each Tuesday from 2pm until 4pm?

Experienced knitters, novices, or those who would love to learn how to master new techniques – Fair Isle, Aran, chunky or fine knitting – all are very welcome to join the group.

Just drop in with your needles, yarn and that tricky pattern at the ready.
