ON TUESDAY at their weekly sale Hexham Auction Mart had forward 106 cattle, which included seven young bulls and 65 over 30 month animals. Cattle trade sharper on the week.

Prime lambs trade set off close to last weeks values but eased as the sale progressed finishing at £4 less on average than last week. ON FRIDAY at their weekly sale, which included the last special sale for spring born calves, Hexham & Northern Marts had forward an entry of 1,211 store cattle & suckled calves. Strong well fleshed cattle met a similar trade on the week selling to £1,160 for Limousin steers from Keepwick. Spring born calves looked value against the special October sales and weathered sorts proved harder to cash. Store cattle prices per head. Cattle 23 – 30 months.
