The children, aged between four and 11, were among nearly 3,000 across the county who took on the challenge to read at least six books and make at least three visits to their local library during the summer holidays.
Over 30 children in Corbridge were among 1,500 children successful in completing the challenge, between July and September, at the 32 Northumberland libraries which took part.
In Corbridge, a special ceremony was held at St Andrew’s Church, where children were presented with certificates and medals for completing the task.
Senior library and tourist information assistant at Corbridge Library, Jenny Kinnear, said: “We are delighted that we have broken our record for the number of children taking part in the challenge at Corbridge this year and Coun. Jean Fearon presented the children with their gold medals and certificates.”
