The Scent Room and the French Beauty Lounge in the Old Bakery Yard, Princess Street, were burgled overnight between 5pm on Tuesday, November 29 and 7.45am on Wednesday, November 30.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “Offenders forced entry to two business premises within the yard and stole a substantial quantity of perfume, nail varnish, cash and a lamp.
“They also attempted to enter another building, causing damage to a lock, but were unable to get inside.”
Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything suspicious. They also want to hear from anyone who may be offered these stolen items for sale.
