A SWORD has been stolen from a house in Corbridge in a Bank Holiday weekend burglary.
A dirk sword, engraved with initials, and a long service medal were swiped from a house on Prospect Hill on Saturday.
The thieves forced their way into the property before snatching the items.
The theft is believed to have taken place between 8.30am and 6.51pm on Saturday, April 29.
Northumbria Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, to contact them.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who may be offered the stolen items for sale.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101, quoting reference number 048398B/17 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
