LINDA'S exercise class is taking a well-deserved break this morning, but members may still wish to enjoy the delicious treats in the Café @ The Foyer in the usual way, but without the workout.

ON Monday, the parish council will meet at 7.45pm in the Church Cottage for its AGM.

There are currently three vacancies on the council and anyone interested in becoming a parish councillor should contact a member of the council who will happily explain the role.

The agenda for this meeting is posted on notice boards and the website. Copies of approved minutes from previous meetings can also be found on the website.

The annual parish meeting will be held on Thursday, May 12, at 7pm, in the parish hall.

This is a meeting for all the electors of the parish – it is not a parish council meeting.

After the formal reports from the school, the village hall trust, the county councillor and the parish council, representatives from the sports clubs in the village have been invited to talk about what they offer and their future plans.

Villagers are encouraged to come along and raise any issues they may have or make suggestions as to how to improve life in the village.

TALKING about our sports clubs, are you interested in establishing football teams in Riding Mill – male, female, all ages – prior to the football pitch being established alongside the cricket field?

If so, meet the coach and fellow enthusiasts at the MUGA court behind the parish hall on Wednesdays from 3.30pm.

NEXT Saturday, May 14, is the Women’s Institute jumble sale at 12.30pm.

There is one week remaining for you to take your unwanted goods to the parish hall whenever access is available, but particularly when the café is open on Monday and Friday mornings to avoid disruption to hall users.

Help is still required on Friday evening from 5pm, on Saturday morning from 9am, and also at the sale.

A list of volunteers is displayed in the parish hall foyer and it would be helpful if you could add your name.

Otherwise, ring Linda on (01434) 682069 or Barbara on (01434) 682739.
