THREE members of 1st Corbridge Scouts have received the highest award available.
Kay Adamson from West Woodburn, Jacob Hunter from Bellingham, and Matt Jones, from Hexham, were all presented with the Chief Scout’s gold award during a recent ceremony in Newcastle.
The 14-year-olds demonstrated their commitment and team work while completing a series of activities and challenges to gain the prestigious badge.
With only encouragement from their Scout leader, Matthew Fenney, the trio managed to plan a three-night camp in Durham for their peers, which included transport, logistics and activities during the event.
Matt’s mother, Rachel Jones, said: “The boys worked so hard and would like to thank their Scout leader, Matthew, for all of his support.”
