HUNDREDS of visitors flocked to Corbridge across the weekend to see St Andrew’s Church in full bloom.

For the work of Stocksfield South of Tyne Flower Club and the Friends of St Andrew’s saw more than 40 floral displays arranged on the theme of A Backward Glance for a four-day event.

Put together with guidance from the flower club’s designer, Vivien Bolton, the festival featured arrangements inspired by the history of the village.

Displays included Stagshaw Bank Fair, Roman Civilisations and even a Tribute to St Andrew.

Vicar, the Rev. David Hewlett, said: “A lot of hard work has gone into making the event possible and the whole thing was wonderful.

“I hope it reminds people that St Andrew’s is a church with open doors to the community.”
