Nine artists from across the North-East will line up at Cheeseburn Scuplture for the exhibition which opens tomorrow and will run over the bank holiday weekend.
They will present sculptural models aimed at inspiring a new piece of art, which will be installed at Cheeseburn early next year.
Visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite, either in person, or online.
The exhibition is also part of the Gillian Dickinson North-East Young Sculptor of the Year awards.
Cheeseburn curator Matthew Jarratt said: “The quality of the proposals from our nine shortlisted artists is fantastic.
“Each artist was awarded £300 and mentoring to support them in developing their proposal for this exhibition and we’re hoping that people from the region will come to Cheeseburn to see the work of these talented young artists.”
