EMERGENCY services have been called to the A69 near Corbridge after a car hit the central reservation.
Police say the silver Mercedes suffered a tyre blow-out and hit barriers near the Styford Roundabout at just after 9.45am.
A section of the eastbound carriageway was blocked between Corbridge and the turn-off for Wylam and Horsley until debris was cleared from the road.
The driver escaped without injuries.
