CORBRIDGE Age UK lunch clubs hold a coffee morning in the parish hall tomorrow morning, between 10am and midday, with various stalls, including cakes, books and gifts, not forgetting a prize raffle.

ANOTHER Messy Church takes place in St Andrew’s Church on Sunday afternoon, from 3pm until 5pm. This month’s event is called “Messy Birthday”.

CORBRIDGE WI holds its May meeting in the parish hall on Monday afternoon, at 2pm, when guest speaker Trevor Jones will give a talk on Alnwick Garden.

WORK commences on Monday to demolish the old pavilion at Corbridge Cricket Club, which was originaly opened in 1960 and was named after E.S Robson, who was the club’s president from 1957 until 1967.

The building withstood the floods of 2005, however Storm Desmond was too much and it was damaged beyond repair.

The club is already planning a replacement which should be ready for the 2017 season. Meanwhile, last weekend’s match away to Blagdon Park was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to the bad weather.

A CREATIVE embroidery exhibition takes place in St Andrew’s Cottage next Friday and Saturday. All proceeds go to the Great North Air Ambulance. The event runs from 10am until 4pm on both days .

CORBRIDGE Methodist Church holds an evening of Northumbrian music on the evening of Saturday, May 14, with Roberta Ritson and students. The event commences at 7pm, followed by a supper, with all proceeds donated to Christian Aid.

CORBRIDGE Gardening Society holds its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 14, in the parish hall from 10am until around 11.30am or until all plants are sold.
