AN art exhibition takes place over the next three days, commencing today, between 1pm and 5pm, and tomorrow and Sunday, from 11am until 5pm. The exhibition includes landscapes, collage, printing, batik and life drawings.

CORBRIDGE has a visit from the judges of Northumbria in Bloom on Wednesday. The floral displays are now starting to show their colour and the Corbridge in Bloom Group is hopeful of retaining the gold won in the past couple of years.

THE parish council has its monthly meeting on Wednesday evening, at 7pm, in the parish hall. This month's meeting is a week earlier than normal, however there will still be plenty to discuss.

NORTHUMBERLAND County Council has completed the work near St Andrews Cottage to deter larger vehicles entering the Market Place.

JUDGES have been busy of late, judging the allotments at Aydon Road. Winners of this year's competition were Morag Dodd and David Charlton; Murray Beattie was runner-up, with Michael Gaughan in third place. Stephen Forster, John Bowman and John Willis were highly commended.

AN awareness session takes place in the parish hall on Tuesday, July 26, commencing at 7pm, in connection with the newly installed public defibrillator near the library and tourist information centre.

CORBRIDGE Festival went off well last weekend. It was well attended and, thankfully, the weather was warm with only light showers.

NORTHUMBERLAND County Council has recently launched its reading challenge for the summer. More of this next week. However, information can be obtained by a visit to the library.
