A CHARTERED surveyor with a Corbridge-based business is celebrating after receiving a prestigious award.

Kate Rankine, who works at the Savills office in the village, was presented with the Alastair Turnbull prize for obtaining the highest mark across the North of England in the 2016 Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) exams.

Kate, who undertakes estate management for private and institutional clients, received the news at the CAAV AGM after qualifying as a Fellow of the Central Association of Valuers last year.

She graduated from the University of Reading in 2014, where she studied rural property managementm before joining Savills, Corbridge as a graduate.

Originally from North Yorkshire, Kate now lives in Northumberland and has also recently qualified as a chartered surveyor.

“I have been working towards achieving these two qualifications for a number of years and it is an incredible feeling when the hard work pays off,” said Kate.

“I was delighted to learn that I achieved the highest mark in the North; it truly is the icing on the cake after taking both sets of exams simultaneously.

“I am now looking forward to utilising the broad range of skills I have developed since joining Savills to offer advice to farmers, landowners and rural businesses across the North-East.”
