PREPARATIONS are already well under way for an annual event in Corbridge which has raised £72,000 for good causes in the last eight years.

More than 900 classic vehicles are expected to return to Tynedale Park in July, making MG Northumbria’s Classics in Corbridge the biggest event yet.

Having grown from only 60 vehicles in 1997, the show will exhibit cars of all makes, including some extremely rare models, as well as commercial vehicles, motorcycles and sports cars.

This year’s gathering will include entertainment for all the family, including live music, a dog agility display, fun dog show, flight simulator, alpacas, archery and children’s rides.

And for the first time, the 68th Durham Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry) re-enactors will be giving displays throughout the day. There will also be a wide range of traders, refreshments and charity stalls.

With profits again being donated to local charities and voluntary organisations, MG Northumbria is inviting applications. Details should be emailed to classiccorbridgecharities@gmail.com
