CYCLISTS on a mission to raise £2,000 for charity set off on the annual Corbridge Grand Depart cycling challenge on Saturday.
Raising funds for the village’s ‘Better Together’ charity partnership, which includes Corbridge Youth Initiative and Charlotte Straker, the 23 cyclists could choose a 40-mile or 65-mile route around some of Tynedale’s best-known tearooms.
Activ Cycles of Corbridge provided early morning teas for the participants as they gathered in the village Market Place before setting off.
Event organiser Bob Eldridge said: “Riders completed over 1,100 tearoom miles.”
